Mokume Gane means ‘wood grain metal’ and it is a traditional Japanese technique of fusing and working different metals to create a fluid and organic pattern. The technique was originally used for the decoration of Samurai swords. By the 1950s it looked like the knowledge of Mokume Gane would disappear due in part to the great difficulty of mastering the art. We have are very proud to have created our own unique range of Mokume Gane for the Australian market. Australian made in Australian metals!
These rings are of the highest quality and are back by our Guarantees & complimentary After Care program. We combine sterling silver with yellow, rose and white gold in a variety of combinations to make them.
The range has been very successful with the owners enjoying the comfortable fit and the joy of the beautiful and unique patterning on every ring.
The Creation of Our Mokune Gane Range
Instead of watching TV one night, my son and I decided to start a journey! We hoped it would end with our own Mokume Gane range of men’s and women’s rings. We researched extensively and then used the skills of our whole team of expert jewellers to combine ancient metal working techniques with ethically-sourced Australian metals. After a year, we had perfected the process so that every ring has an amazing organic pattern and enticing colours. Stephen Dibb
