Queensland Beauty – boulder opal dress ring
This custom made dress ring featured Australian boulder opal & diamonds. Boulder opals are distinctive because they lay on ironstone from which they are mined. The veins of colourful opal forms in cracks and fissures in these brown boulders. Boulder opals are found only in the state of Queensland, Australia. The major opal fields are in Quilpie & Winton.
In this design we chose to embrace the opal – ironstone showing which is not always the case & it being asymmetrical with vertical row of grain set set diamonds down one side & 3 graduated rub-over set diamonds on the other.
