Tim – Mokume Gane with White Gold Rails
This custom made, men’s dress or wedding ring was made of Mokume Gane metal with rose gold rails. For our Mokume Gane we combine sterling silver with yellow, rose and white gold in a variety of combinations to make them.
Mokume Gane means ‘wood grain metal’ and it is a traditional Japanese technique of fusing and working different metals to create a fluid and organic pattern. The technique was originally used for the decoration of Samurai swords. By the 1950s it looked like the knowledge of Mokume Gane would disappear due in part to the great difficulty of mastering the art. We have are very proud to have created our own unique range of Mokume Gane for the Australian market. Australian made in Australian metals!
